Our Story
Four generations. One family. One barn.
Richard’s Ranch is a working piece of land on the edge of Modesto that our family has farmed for four generations. The orchard leading to the ceremony site has been part of this land for years, adding a sense of history and character to every celebration. While the barn now welcomes weddings and private gatherings, the property remains a working ranch. The orchard, vineyard, and surrounding grounds are an important part of its character, reflecting the agricultural roots that have shaped this place over generations. We take pride in preserving that history while sharing the beauty of the ranch with those who come to celebrate.

The name
The barn is named for our father, Richard. He gave his life to this land, and we wanted his memory to be part of a place where people come together to mark the moments that matter. Every wedding and gathering here adds a new chapter to the barn’s story.
Who we are
Family owned and family operated. From your first inquiry to your wedding day, you’re working with us directly. We send your pricing, walk you through the orchard on your tour, and are on the property the day of your event.
The setting

The land
The property is laid out around the barn. The orchard is on one side, the vineyard on the other, and a large lawn sits close by. Guests can move from one area to the next without going far.
How it’s used
Ceremonies are held outside, in the orchard or the vineyard, with the barn just behind. The patio and lawn handle everything in between, and the evening ends on the patio under the Edison bulbs.
The seasons
No two seasons look the same here. Late winter brings almond blossoms, summer brings lavender, and early autumn brings full, green vines. The time of year you pick shapes the look of your day.
Five years of celebrations
We opened the barn to weddings five years ago. Since then, we’ve welcomed celebrations and private gatherings of all kinds, each one bringing its own character and meaning to the space.
Come see it
We would love to show you around. Tours are private and arranged for one couple at a time.
